The Penrith Panthers’ talent factory continues to produce future stars, and among the latest is 15-year-old playmaker Jaylin Moran — a rising prospect with rugby league in his blood and leadership in his sights.
Moran, who relocated from Parkes to Penrith at age 13, is already earning recognition within the Panthers’ renowned development system. This year, he was named the Harold Matthews Cup Emerging Talent at the club’s junior awards and earned selection for the Under-16s City team, showcasing his on-field intelligence and attacking flair.

Inspired by his father, Dennis Moran — a former NRL half for the Parramatta Eels in the late 1990s and a Super League standout — Jaylin has clear goals: lead the Penrith side in 2026 and ultimately reach the NRL himself. “My family push me a lot… Dad gives me advice because he knows what he’s talking about,” Jaylin told Zero Tackle.
Also a representative for the NSW Koori Under-16s and a tourist to New Zealand this year, Moran’s natural ability and maturity have impressed coaches and talent scouts alike. “He is one of the most naturally talented players for his age,” noted his management, Nitro Talent Group.
While Moran idolizes Panthers captain Nathan Cleary, he’s determined to carve out his own path.
“I want to be one of the leaders in the Penrith team and hopefully win next year’s Harold Matts competition,” he said.
With talent, heritage, and ambition, Jaylin Moran is fast emerging as a name to watch in the Panthers’ next generation.
