Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the City Ground until 2027.

The 33-year-old has been instrumental this season, scoring 14 goals in 22 Premier League matches and helping Forest secure third place in the standings.

Wood joined Forest on loan from Newcastle in January 2023, later completing a permanent transfer. In December, he surpassed Bryan Roy to become the club’s all-time leading Premier League scorer, with 30 goals in 65 appearances.

Expressing his excitement, Wood highlighted Forest’s ambitious vision and praised the fans for their unwavering support. Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis commended Wood’s leadership and work ethic, calling him a role model for the team.

Wood, named Forest’s first Premier League Player of the Month in November, has thrived under manager Nuno Espirito Santo, scoring the majority of his league goals since the Portuguese coach’s arrival.

With the team unbeaten in eight matches and eyeing a return to European football, Wood’s extension is seen as a crucial step in Forest’s progress.
