As veteran quarterback Russell Wilson enters free agency, speculation is mounting over the type of contract he will secure.

After signing a modest one-year, $1.2 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers last offseason, Wilson proved he can still lead a team to the playoffs. Now, the 36-year-old signal-caller is expected to receive a significantly larger contract offer.

Despite his struggles with the Denver Broncos from 2022 to 2023, Wilson’s recent performance in Pittsburgh has renewed interest in his market value.

ESPN insider Dan Graziano weighed in on the situation, predicting that Wilson could land a two-year, $50 million contract, with $35 million guaranteed. If this deal materializes, it would place him 19th among NFL quarterbacks in average annual salary.

Graziano also highlighted a key difference from last year’s contract negotiations. In 2024, the Broncos were still paying Wilson guaranteed money, allowing the Steelers to sign him at a low cost. This time, however, no such offset exists, meaning Wilson will command a much higher salary.

While his next destination remains uncertain, Wilson has been linked to several teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders.

Another ESPN prediction, however, suggests he may return to Pittsburgh. Teams can begin negotiating with free agents on March 10, with official signings allowed starting March 12 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
