Nick Abrams, a 2026 four-star linebacker from McDonogh High School in Owings Mills, Maryland, recently discussed his recruitment with Alabama’s head coach Kalen DeBoer and linebacker coach Chuck Morrell.
The Crimson Tide extended an offer to Abrams earlier this month, and both coaches made the trip to Maryland to evaluate his fit within Alabama’s defensive strategy.
Reflecting on his meeting with the coaches, Abrams shared his excitement, stating:
“It was great talking to coach DeBoer and coach Morrell. They talked a lot about my development and the ways I would be used in their system.”
He emphasized that the Alabama staff’s attention to his potential made him feel valued.
“They are big on me,” Abrams explained. “They see me as a priority and high on their board. It is great to know that a program like Alabama is that high on me, especially with what they’ve been able to do to put linebackers in the league.”
Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 210 pounds, Abrams is a versatile linebacker known for his ability to cover ground in space, make open-field tackles, and contribute in both the run game and pass rush.
He described his strengths, saying:
“I’m able to run sideline to sideline, drop back in coverage, make deflections, and catch picks.”
With his athletic skill set, Abrams represents exactly the type of linebacker many college programs are targeting today.
