Sydney Roosters forward Victor Radley is expected to spend at least a month away from rugby league following his fifth head injury assessment (HIA) of the 2025 NRL season, sustained during Round 14 action.

According to a report from The Sydney Morning Herald, Radley passed the on-field HIA at the time, but the Roosters’ medical staff made the cautious decision to rule him out for the remainder of the match. In light of his history with head knocks, the club has since taken a conservative approach to his recovery.

The 26-year-old has undergone evaluations with several neurological specialists in recent days. While no signs of immediate concern were reported, the cumulative effect of multiple head knocks has prompted a thorough and carefully managed recovery strategy. As such, Radley will not return to play for at least a month, with no definitive comeback date currently set.

This latest incident marks Radley’s fifth HIA of the season—an alarming tally that raises broader questions about player welfare and long-term health.

The Roosters are prioritizing his wellbeing and will continue to consult medical professionals before making any return-to-play decisions.
