New South Wales forward Max King has described his State of Origin debut as a dream come true, revealing the experience has not only been a career milestone but also a transformative moment in his development as a player for the Canterbury Bulldogs.

King, who featured in Game One of the 2025 Origin series at Suncorp Stadium, said the intensity, atmosphere, and level of competition have pushed him to strive for more both personally and professionally.

“I’m living out a dream,” King told the Continuous Call Team podcast. “A big priority for me is also coming back to club land and being better for it as well.”

The 27-year-old enforcer, known for his work ethic and leadership, is hoping the lessons learned in the Blues’ camp will benefit the Bulldogs as they look to climb the NRL ladder in the second half of the season.

King emphasized the importance of transferring the high standards of Origin football back to his club environment.

“I just want to make sure I bring that energy and discipline back to the Bulldogs. The opportunity to play for New South Wales has been a huge honour, and now it’s about using that experience to help lift the team,” he added.

With Origin Game Two looming and King firmly in the mix for another call-up, Bulldogs fans will be encouraged by the maturity and hunger their forward now brings back from the representative arena.
