The Phoenix Suns are reportedly preparing for a significant shake-up that could include trading superstar forward Kevin Durant.

According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, league insiders now view a Durant trade as “inevitable,” especially after the Suns parted ways with head coach Frank Vogel and replaced him with Mike Budenholzer.

Durant, 35, still ranks among the NBA’s elite, but Phoenix’s recent struggles and lack of playoff success have cast doubt on the sustainability of the current roster, which also features high-paid stars Devin Booker and Bradley Beal.

With limited financial flexibility and few draft assets, the Suns may see a Durant deal as a path toward reshaping the team for the future.

While Durant has not publicly requested a trade, executives around the league believe Phoenix will listen to offers this summer.

The Suns are reportedly exploring ways to rebalance their roster and regain depth, with Budenholzer expected to have a say in the team’s direction.

Durant is under contract through the 2025–26 season.
