BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA – Broncos captain Adam Reynolds has emphatically shut down speculation of player unrest following the team’s recent loss, dismissing external criticism as divisive “noise” and throwing his full support behind coach Michael Maguire.
Rumours swirled after Brisbane’s weekend defeat that Maguire’s notoriously rigorous training regime had sparked discontent within the playing group.

The speculation drew fiery condemnation from Penrith legend Greg Alexander, who blasted any potential complainers on SEN Radio:
“Don’t let me think that Brisbane players are whingeing because Michael Maguire is too hard on them. Cry me a river, you little wusses! If that is true, none of them deserve to be playing NRL. I can’t believe experienced NRL players would be bitching and whingeing because Michael Maguire keeps them there too long.”
However, Reynolds, backed by star centre Kotoni Staggs, led a firm rebuttal ahead of Round 15. The skipper dismissed the claims as attempts to destabilise the club.
“It’s easy for the outside noise to obviously try and tear the team apart and the coaching staff,” Reynolds stated firmly to Channel Nine. “Look, we’re working hard, we’re just like any other team who train hard. Everyone can write what they want to write, but internally we know we’re capable of doing some great things here.”
Reynolds left no doubt about the players’ confidence in their coach, declaring:
“Madge is the right man leading us forward.”
His strong endorsement directly counters the narrative of friction and reinforces a united front within the Broncos camp as they prepare for their next NRL challenge.
The public backing from their captain and key players aims to silence critics and refocus attention on the field.
