Nottingham Forest are on the verge of finalising a deal to sign Brazilian striker Igor Jesus from Botafogo, according to reports from Transfermarkt and journalist Jorge Nicola.
The Premier League side is prepared to pay between €23 million and €25 million, potentially meeting Botafogo’s valuation, which initially stood at €30 million.
Igor Jesus, 24, returned to Brazil in July 2024 after a stint in Arabian football, joining Botafogo on a free transfer. Despite his brief time back in South America, his performances have reignited interest from European clubs.
Arsenal had a bid rejected for him in January, and several other Premier League outfits—including Fulham, West Ham, and Newcastle—have also shown interest.
Nottingham Forest had previously seen a personal rejection from the player despite tabling a €30 million offer. However, renewed negotiations appear more promising this time. There are discussions that if the move is completed, Igor Jesus could be immediately loaned out to Olympiacos until 2026.
With a market value currently estimated at €15 million, a final agreement in the €23–25 million range would represent a strong show of ambition from Forest, who continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new season.
