Alabama’s coaching staff made a notable recruiting visit to Texas this week, extending an offer to one of the nation’s top quarterback prospects, Colton Nussmeier.

The 2027 four-star quarterback, son of former Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier and younger brother to LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, stands out as one of the top quarterbacks in his class. At 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, Colton showcased his impressive skills as the starting quarterback for Marcus High School (TX) this past season, where he threw for 1,894 yards, 16 touchdowns, and only three interceptions.

With his strong performance and potential, Nussmeier is sure to draw interest from numerous top-tier programs. Along with Alabama, other schools such as Georgia, LSU, Auburn, and Michigan have also extended offers. Notably, Alabama has only extended one other quarterback offer in the 2027 class—Alabama native Trent Seaborn.

As one of the most sought-after recruits in the country, Colton Nussmeier will be a player to watch as Alabama decides how to approach his recruitment moving forward.

With his connection to the Tide through his father, the story behind his recruitment is bound to attract significant attention in the coming years.
